Christmas Fayre 2011 |
The festive season got off to a flying start at the city’s newest primary school in December 2011, when the Friends group of Chester Blue Coat CE Primary held its first Christmas fair.
All the pupils enjoyed a non-uniform day as part of the fun and the junior building was packed with children, parents, carers and teachers flocking to the many stalls, crafts and games areas.
Father Christmas delighted the younger ones in his grotto, while slightly older children enjoyed selecting a ‘secret Santa’ gift for a friend or relation and wrapping it in the present room. Hair braiding, nail painting and biscuit decorating were all popular, while the tombolas attracted huge queues. Several of the Year 6 pupils had taken the fund-raising event to heart and made ‘Sock Ness Monsters’ to sell.
