Jubilee Fundraiser

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to and supported our Jubilee events . We raised a fantastic £344 for school funds which is a wonderful total.
The Jubilee Tea Party after school on Friday 1st June had refreshments, fabulous cakes, bunting galore and even musical entertainment from Vera Lynn thanks to Mr O'Brien! Everyone had a great time celebrating our Queen's Diamond Jubiliee.

We also ran our first workshop to help the children complete their Jubilee patchwork squares which was very successful. When all the squares are completed we will tie them all together with ribbons and hang them in school as a fabulous personalised momento of the jubilee.

Thanks also to Debbie from Creation Station who provided additional craft activities for the children.

Jubilee Tea Party

We are enormously grateful to everyone who supported these two events, be it by making cakes, erecting gazebos in the pouring rain, running workshops, hauling tables, hanging bunting, selling cakes, bagging up sweets, serving tea, washing up or all of the above!

A huge amount of work went into both events but it was so worth it for the money we raised and also for the community spirit we created both within our school and in our wider community.

A particular thanks goes to those who came and volunteered to help us for the first time as well as those who come and help out time after time. We hope you had as much fun as we did!

On Sunday 3rd June the fun continued at the Garden Quarter/Cambrian community Jubilee Street Festival.

It did not stop raining all day long! But our motto was 'Life's not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain' and that's what we did!

We were very proud to have a Friends Association stall at this important community event. It is the first time we have been associated with our vibrant local community in this way and we hope it is the start of a fruitful and mutually beneficial partnership.

We ran another patchwork squares workshop at the event, plus we sold our last few cakes from the tea party and we also ran a Giant Lolly treasure hunt with the winner: Bridget from Garden Quarter claiming her prize of an enormous lolly!

It really was a wonderful day and showed us that we our very lucky that our school is situated in one of the best communities in the UK.
