On 1st July Rich Mabbutt, father of Archie (Year 1) and Alice (Reception), took part in the Deva Olympic Distance Triathlon to raise funds towards the provision of playground equipment for the children of Chester Blue Coat Primary School.

This involved a 1 mile swim in the River Dee, a 25 mile bike ride through Cheshire and North Wales and finally a 6 mile run around Chester.

Rich completed the event in 2 hours 45 minutes with the following splits:

• Swim: 00:22:48
• T1 (change to bike): 00:03:05
• Bike: 01:22:54
• T2 (change to run): 00:02:09
• Run: 00:54:26
